About Department

The Department of English has been in existence with the establishment of the college in 1972. Many efficient teachers like Sri A. Purushottam, Sri PSR Murthy, Sri D. K. Sarma, Sri M. Ravindra Babu , Sri K.V. Durga Prasad , AV Ramana Rao and P Narasimha Rao worked in this department. The immeasurable knowledge and proficiency of these learned scholars is a blessing to this department.
Presently there are two sanctioned posts in the Department. The faculty of the department always strives hard to enrich the students’ knowledge and skills to suit to the changing needs and aspirations of the society. They strive hard for all round development of the students. They do their best effort to better the standards of the students. The globalisation and the growing importance of English language have made it imperative both for the teachers and students to refresh their skills from time to time to develop their abilities of spoken English along with the written English.
Majority of the students studying in this college come from rural areas and belong to the first generation literates. They cannot evince interest in the subject due to inborn fear and lack of proper understanding of the value of the subject. Further the faculty of the department make themselves ever available to help the students to enrich their skills.
The department extends its services and cooperation to other departments also even to the non-teaching staff. It helps them in their day to day official correspondence. The department also extends its services to train the students in employability skills through the English Language Lab (ELL), Jawahar Knowledge Center (JKC) and Andhra Pradesh State Skills Development Corporation (APSSDC).

VISION
