Orientation Programme on DISHA App
Orientation Programme was conducted in Sri ABR Govt Degree College, Repalle to create awareness on the usage of DISHA app, a Govt of Andhra Pradesh initiative. Smt Triveni and Smt Thirupathamma from Repalle PS visited the college and explained about the functioning of the app. Principal of the College, Dr A V Kavitha, Vice Principal Dr G Mallikarjun, IQAC Coordinator Sri R Yesupadamu, members of WEC, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students have participated in the event.
International Women's Day
The International Women’s Day was celebrated in Sri ABR Government Degree College, Repalle on 09-08-2021. Dr T D Vimala, professor of Psychology (Rtd) was the chief guest for the event and participated in the event through online mode. Principal of the college Dr A V Kavitha, convener of WEC, members of WEC, teaching and non-teaching staff, students participated in the event.
Workshop on 21st century girls
A Workshop on“21stCENTURY GIRLS”was conducted on 28-08-2020 to all the girls students of the college. Dr T D Vimala, professor of Psychology (Rtd) and at present acting as Psychologist, Acharya Nagarjuna University has been invited as the resource person. Shesensitized girls students on various issues like gender equality,Women empowerment, socio economic growth of women and challenges. Brain storming sessions and Pair works on “How a girl student has to behave in a society” have been organized on the topic. Theconvener of WEC, Smt. AV Kavitha, members of WEC, Principal of the college Dr G Mallikharjun and students participated in the event.
International Women’s Day
The international women’s day was celebrated in SABR Degree college on 08-08-2020. The chief guest for the occasion was Smt. V Sandhya Rani, Principal of Government Polytechnic college, Repalle. She gave a detailed speech on various issues women generally are facing. The convener of WEC Smt A V Kavitha, members of WEC, teaching and non-teaching staff, students participated in the event.
Balikadinotsavm
Balikadinotsavamwas conducted on 24-01-2020 at Sri. ABR Government degree college, Repalle. In collaboration with Women and child welfare department, Repalle, this programme has been organized. Balikadinostsavam has been started initially by Govt. of India in 2008. A team of health volunteers from ICDS Guntur District visited the college and created awareness on various issues like health, safety, education, empowerment etc. The convener of WEC, Smt. AV Kavitha, members of WEC, Principal Dr P Venkateswarlu, and students participated in the event.
Women Empowerment Cell of the college conducted a certificate course in “Garment Designing”. This course was for 2 months duration. Forty students have participated in this certificate course . Sri ABR Government degree college had an MOU with “Sri Sandhya Garments and Handycrafts”, Repalle for organizing this certificate course. After finishing this course, skill based exam was conducted and certificates were distributed. As a part of this course, students had a field visit to “sandhya Garments and handicrafts”, Repalle.
Women Empowerment cell of our college supported in installing a Sanitary vending machine and a incinerator in the women students waiting hall. This programme was aimed to create an awareness on health care & hygienic conditions to be maintained during menstrual cycle. This machinery has been donated by Swatch Andhra Corporation in association with H L L life care limited in association with Health ministry of central government. The sanitary napkins available in the machine are made up of cellulose pulp, which is very hygienic to women students and also burning the used napkins in the incinerator machine is also very eco friendly. The functioning and operation of the machinery was explained to the girl students by WEC members of the college.
National Women's Parliament was organized by Andhra Pradesh Legislature and Government of Andhra Pradesh (A.P) in association with MAEER's MIT school of Government, Pune on 10th, 11th and 12th February 2017 at Pavitra Sangamam, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.
Four girl students of our college Kum. Divya of II B. Sc, Kum. Meghana of II. B.Sc, accompanied by Smt. G. Navaratnam, lecturer in English, participated in this prestigious event of state Government. They have participated in the discussions and had a great exposure.
